Casting or injection moulding?

The alternative for small series!

Injection moulding is a low-cost method for production in large quantities. This is partially offset, however, by the very high investment costs incurred with injection moulding tools. On the other hand, the majority of polyurethane elastomer applications are used to produce small to medium quantities, when it is not worth investing in an expensive injection moulding tool. However, the material selection and physical properties of polyurethane elastomers are beyond the reach of thermoplastic materials. Other advantages are:

•       Corrosion protection under DIN 30677-2 and Ruhrgas standard GL722-502

•       Wear-optimised systems with an abrasion of under 20 mm³ pursuant to DIN 53516
